Best tasting Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to!

Expensive Taco Bell. El Loro used to taste authentic, have amazing prices, and be a very worthwhile dining experience in the suburbs. MY latest order from there the prices were much higher than they used to be, and Taco Bell can make food taste better. ICK!
Awful experience. I had gone here several time with decent experiences. Then there was one time that was so bad that I will never go back again. It was Mother’s Day 3 years ago. Yes, I know that’s a busy eating out day. But really.We waited 5 minutes for our table. No biggie. We ordered. My hubby and I got the fajitas for 2; I asked for no shrimp. The family that got seated right before us was done eating by the time our food came out to us. So finally 45 minutes after we order, they bring our food out. Our fajitas have shrimp in them. I ask them to redo it. They take the plate away and come back a minute later with no shrimp. Now it was obvious they had gone back to the kitchen and just removed the shrimp from the platter because the food was not sizzling like it normally is when they bring out fajitas. I asked for a manager. I explained that we had waited 45 minutes for our food and that it was wrong and that they wouldn’t fix it correctly. He apologized and explained it was busy. I said I understood but if they couldn’t do no shrimp, they should have said and I would have ordered something else. I asked them to just charge us for our 3 year old son’s meal so we could leave. They said no, they would bring our food and not charge us for the fajitas. I said I just wanted to go and save my Mother’s Day. He was insistent. So I said fine. They brought out fajitas (again with just the shrimp taken off as there was still one on the plate). I ate barely any and we left angry, disappointed, with a 3-year-old who had been force to sit in a restaurant for almost 2 hours.
Best mexican. By FAR the best authentic mexican in the twin cities. Super friendly staff. This family owns a few places but this one is for sure the best. Along with salsa and chips, they give you this white creamy sauce. Delish! My favorites are veg dish E and the veggie fajiats, but my boyfriend loves combo 13. You will not be disappointed!
