I visited the Eat Street location in Minneapolis. With outdoor sidewalk, cafe seating, good Jamaican music, backed by great food, Pimento Jamaican Kitchen is a great place to get your rasta foodie kick satisfied. I had the slow roasted jerk pork served with a side of Kingston Kick sauce, rice & beans, slaw, and sweet plantains. The pork stood on its own with a nice jerk flavor. The sauce provided a nice spicy kick without just burn flavor. Washed it all down with a Red Strip to complete the meal. Diverse crowd present so you know the food is real, appealing to everyone.
Great food. I was skeptical going to a mall food court but I had to eat my words after trying it. I tried the one love dish with the jerk chicken and pork. The plantain are not to be taken lightly. They were majestically awesome. The meat was tender and the rice and beans were the jay-z of rice of beans. They need to be in a stand alone restaurant.
