Don’t let the look of the place chase you away.. What can I say? I love a good dive restaurant! Located in the Crystal Town Center, Jins is a take-out Chow Mein restaurant that is a throwback to the old style Americanized Chow Mein palaces of the past. Do not expect anything special on decor but do enjoy their great service and the food. Also, it is very inexpensive and they always offer coupon specials. The egg rolls are those that I remember from the first time I went to one of the old Chow Mein restaurants years ago. They were hot and of course just a little greasy from the oil but not dripping. Best of all, they had taste unlike others I have had that taste like paste. You could tell they had veggies and pork in the egg roll. I also asked for the hot mustard as I enjoy that on an egg roll but these really did not need anything else. All of their sauces are the food service to go packs and not my favorite which is why I like to take this home and mix up my own hot mustard and use some good quality soy if I want to amp up the flavor.The Chow Mein is their specialty and I love it. It all comes separated, rice in one box, Chow Mein in another and a package of crunchy noodles. Mix it all together and enjoy. You can giggle as you mix it as you may remember mixing the La Choy cans together in the past. This is much better and I love the taste of their food. Like I said, I just like a touch of a quality soy sauce to add.I cant wait to try a few of their other items but I must say I am sold on their Chow Mein at the prices they charge. About the price, bring cash as they do not accept credit or debit cards.
Awful. We were excited to try this place after all the rave reviews, but it was hands down the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. The fried rice tasted like soy sauce, the sesame chicken had lettuce on the bottom of the box and some weird watery sauce. As for the chow mein, you are better off buying the can at the supermarket…it taste better. Maybe they used to have better food, but we won’t be back.
Great food and great prices. Jin’s has been my favorite for takeout Chinese for over 18 years since I first discovered it. The food is fresh, very tasty and service is fast. Favorites include their fried rice, wontons, Kung Pao, Chicken and mushroom chow mein, and so much more. Great $5 lunch specials include an appetizer, fried rice and entree in an easy to eat from container. Highly recommend this place.
Great Hit. It’s so hard to find a decent Chinese restaurant. Most of the time it’s hit or miss. Trust me, the Jin’s is a definite hit. Excellent food, wonderful service, huge portions (I made two meals out of my chow mein and fried rice, fair prices. Go and see for yourself. Enjoy an appetizer and any sorts of on tray, everything is Delicious! Grade A+
I love this place. Jin’s has been a take out mainstay in Crystal for many years. Their vegetable fried rice and egg foo yung are the best around. Fast service even during busy periods.They do not accept credit/debit cards; cash and check only.
Good food with Great prices!!!. I have only ordered from them several times but I must say I will become a repeat customer. Besides the fact that the prices are GREAT the food is really good and the service is lightening quick. The employees are very nice.I recommend you try it. Yummy!I’ve had everything from the chowmein to the fried rice to egg foo yung and eggrolls and wontons and Chicken Almond Ding. All was very tasty.Try it – you’ll like it!!
