I haven’t been to many Korean restaurants but out of the ones I’ve been to, Hoban is by-far the best. Great food (lots of side dishes!), great service (friendly employees, cozy atmosphere/comfortable space), and the karaoke was amazing (omg, yes)! Went there for the first time with others for a meet-up in early 2015 and we’re thinking about having our meet-up there again. I’d recommend this place to anyone who asked for good Korean restaurants, most definitely!!

My absolute favourite restaurant, ever, period. When we go to Minneapolis we plan a day just to go to Hoban, lol. It’s always busy and packed with a line outside, even on non-peak days like weekends. Their menu is extensive and impressive. Slowly, each visit to the states, I try a new menu item.Their bossam is meant to be shared with two people. I find it’s just OKAY, it’s authentic, and I appreciate they add the clam side dish (because other places don’t), but it’s just… okay. The pork was a bit on the bland side. Definitely not a dish for those watching their cholesterol. Steamed pork belly = fat city.Their kimbap is good. For $8 you get about 3 full rolls worth. It’s a meal in itself or a great appetizer to share. My favourite dish from this place is their gopchang gui. It’s stirfried intestines and tripe with vegetables in a really spicy sauce. So addictive, great with rice! They do not skimp on the side dishes.Service is attentive. Price is more than reasonable for the amount of food you get.Sadly, I’m moving far away from Winnipeg and cannot visit Minnesota as often, I will miss this place. If I’m ever in the Twin Cities region I will make a trip to go here. I suspect it’s more busy with a new outlet mall right beside this place.
