This place is worth driving to. The owner really cares about the product and has taken care to source and select his meats so that they provide a good balance of meatiness, moisture, and just the right amount of fat. The meat comes without sauce and you can add your own. Ribs have a nice full smoke on the aftertaste. Pairs nice with a mixture of the sweet and xxhot. The brisket is moist and tender. Just enough smoke without going overboard. Beans are tangy and smoky. Too smoky perhaps. With smoke everywhere else, could have cut back there. We will be back
This is a relatively new BBQ place (opened Dec of 2015.). You order your food at the counter choosing from 1, 2 or 3 meat plates, pork sandwiches or ribs. Available meats are chicken, pulled pork, ribs and beef brisket. Every one of them are very good but my personal opinion sorts them as: ribs, pork, chicken, brisket. They make their own sauces and lots of varieties. All are of the vinegar style rather than the sweet-sticky. Some work better with particular meats than others, as one might expect so you will want to try them all and mix/match. Sides are good with the fries being a real standout. The seasoning they use on them is killer good!! Beans, coleslaw and potato salad arw also available and you get two choices with each plate/meal. Dis I mention the prices are LOW for BBQ? In my opinion ZZQ is the best value barbecue in MN!Seating is available, as are special deals for some local businesses. Highly recommended!!
