Two horrid things: I went to the restroom after ordering our meal. Our waitress used the restroom at the same time and did not wash her hands. Within minutes she served my sandwich. Second horrid thing: the music was full blast. My friend and I could not talk without shouting. As we left my ears were pounding. We looked around and noted most people were not talking, just texting. Not a place to go for a germ-free meal or a chat! Food was so-so and expensive. Mojito was mostly ice. And it cost $12 to park in nearby lot.

Half star. Bar Louie is like a super attractive person who is extremely shallow and impersonal. The satisfaction is limited to the surroundings and who you are with. It’s saving grace, of course, is the cool patio. The food and drinks were worthy of taking the time to write a bad review. The nachos with chicken were flat on flavor. There was nothing to save this app from blandness- come on, good tasting salsa and guac are not that hard to make! Our group of 5 did not finish them. The boneless wings were ok, but relied on a very salty sauce. At $11 and $13, they are a complete waste of food, time, energy, and money. Do not order the bloody mary. At $11 one would expect a superior drink. The skewered meat, cheese, and veg in the VERY weak drink were inedible. Bottom line, if you bother to go to Louie, plan on disappointment if you order anything that has to be made or mixed. Bottom line, I can recommend only bottled beer, tap, or wine. And I would only go during happy hour due to overly inflated prices. .
I was visiting Minneapolis from out of town and was excited to try Bar Louie for after dinner drinks but I will never be going back here, nor recommending this place to anyone. They refused to let my friend in because they thought she had a fake ID. She showed them 3 different credit cards and her old college ID with a picture of her on it. The bouncer treated us horribly during this entire ordeal even though we remained calm and respectful. We ended up having to call the police to get her ID back. While we were waiting another patron was not allowed in because he had a baseball cap on. His girlfriend asked if she could put it in her purse but they still refused to let them in. Based on our experience at other bars in Minneapolis this place is not worth your time or money.
First time here, will not return. There is obviously no manager over seeing the wait staff. The most unprofessional staff I have ever seen. Standing around and gossiping at the bar, their appearance and attitudes were not professional at all. Food was sub par. I can not imagine who would own this restaurant and run it this way.
Just terrible.. ZERO stars & a huge thumbs down. I will NEVER go back here. I was there for a birthday gathering on Friday night, and the party organizer had not done her research. If she had, she would have seen all the horrible reviews and we would have gone elsewhere. First of all, the beer prices are not listed on the menu. I was floored that a beer was $10. Unacceptable. There are a TON of craft brews in the area, and they carried one or two. This is not a bar that supports local breweries despite their extensive beer list. They also tried to pull a fast one on my friend who ordered a good glass of Sav. Blanc. This is a wine we drink often, and what she was served was no where NEAR it. When we told the waiter, they corrected the mistake and said they were out of the better one, but didn’t tell her before serving her the cheap (gross) one. They didn’t even comp her glass as any respectable place would, and it took telling the server two times that it needed to be changed on her ticket before the error was corrected. Second, the food was barely edible. I am a fish eating veg, and there were only a few options. I opted for fish tacos, which are pretty hard to screw up. Another person at the table also ordered them. They were practically inedible. The fish had a terrible metallic taste, and was very fishy. The rice that came with it was under done, and the black beans were cold. For a $15 entry, this is just plain crazy. I would have preferred taco bell. The clientele was young, over boozed, and douchey. We will never be going back.
Really???. These restaurateurs need to understand that Uptown is not the suburbs. If only they had different better options for food and drinks. I’ve only been once and I live in Uptown. Service was nice
