Pretty fancy tea place. I had never had bubble tea before so it was a neato experience. I got the blended chai tea latte with soy milk and a shot of mango; it tastes just like pumpkin pie. I would never have thought to do that, but the cashier recommended it. I’m excited to try the loose-leaf pots next time.
They claim their shakes use nondairy creamer, but it has a milk derivitive, casein, in it!! I’m so mad that I’ve two shakes there and no one told me. I went there tonight and the barista, a fellow vegan, told me about the casein. I think it’s shitty. Like, International Delight does it and TECHNICALLY the FDA says it’s okay, but come on. The little shop in uptown? That’s not cool. The shakes I did have were good, so I guess if you don’t care about the dairy it’s fine, but I know I won’t be going back there.
