Holy crap is this place expensive. Good thing my wife has one birthday a year. First of all let me say I don’t care much for Italian, having said that I will go here for family events because you can have a blast and really enjoy the ambiance thing. We recently celebrated another b-day with the family I ordered for the six of us. The usual, salad and three pasta dishes and chicken Parma and two desserts with sodas. It was almost $200.00 bucks with tip. Next time I’m going to Olive Garden or I’m taking Italian cooking classes to save my money. Man what a kick on the wallet!!
Great place for some Italian. We went there in a large group with a reservation. They were really busy at the time, so it took a very long time to get our food out, but it was understandable. I can tolerate long wait times if the food is worth it (and it was). Chicken Marsala they had was great. i probably will come again. =)
Good food, unorganized service. I always have liked the food at Buca. The egg fettucine is promising, and I love a good caprese salad. I returned to this location last week for the first time in three years. The staff seemed a bit unorganized. We were a party of 19 so I could see where this might happen, but at a place that does TONS of parties and strictly family-style, you would think it would be just another day. The worst part for us was that when the waitress took our orders, she asked who would be ordering and eating together. But when the bill came, it was all on one (for 19 people) rather than by our smaller groups. Was this not the point of asking? When we asked to get it split in the fashion we ordered, they said they couldn’t split the check. As you can imagine for 19 people and a $300 bill, tip and tax included, this was a pain. It took us nearly a half hour to organize. It’s also no fun when the tip is already included and your server deserves no where near that amount of a tip.
Buca di Beppo is Italian at It’s Best. My family really enjoys the Italian family platters at Buca. The salad options are amazing. The different pasta options are so fantastic. I have tried most every dish and whatever your in the mood for whether it is ravioli, spagetti, any type of pasta, it is top notch. The mood and atmosphere is so calming and romantic. The servers at the Eden Prairie are so charming. They have come to serve and donate their skills and the meal to my 60 at risk kids at Kids Cafe’ at Perspectives Inc. http://www.perspectives-family.org They put down the red checkered table cloths for my homeless kids at my human service agency, made the lighting just right and spoiled our kids. These people are into community. We love Buca. Buca believes in community.
Overrated. The service is horrible, and the food only average. They do seem to have a lot of sauce and pasta, and little meat in their dishes. I can pay less for more at most another Italian restaurant.02/09/11So they must have been listening.100% improvement in menu, service etc etc. I don’t go often due to it being mostly a large group type dinner place, but when I do go – I enjoy. 🙂
Surprisingly not good. I have been here many times, catered from here many times, and always had great food. I was there Monday this week and there was a lot of dissapointments. 1) They got rid of my two favorite items: mac rosa and tortallini. Whenever i served tortallini at my parties it was always a hit. Surprising move..2) out of the beer i wanted3)meatball was cold4)stuffed shells and the other pasta dishes we had were terrible. With the new menu I hope they make it but they need to make some changes fast.
Improved and lots of fun. This used to be quantity over quality, but has improved greatly in the past year. Anything with a red sauce is good and the frutte de mare is the best seafood entree in the area. Good value. Try the raspberry lemon drop martini – yum.
