A best and must try for sea food lovers. Though I’m a veggie, I can give this review based on my friends comments and compliments to this resto. It serves a vegan nenu too but not of much dishes.
Really enjoyed Kona Grill and the outdoor patio area is great. I had a turkey burger that was to die for and will be back. Fries were excellent!
I was in the area recently and had the Macadamia Nut Chicken. We started with Potstickers which were flavorful and delicious. The macadamia nut chicken was mediocre. The portion was huge. The chicken was not very crispy so the macadamia nut crust was a waste. I am quite sure the hard, stiff mashed potatoes are out of a box. The veg was OK.
Excellent service. Sushi and Seabass entree were above average. My husband said the filet was the best he had in a long time. The ingredients were fresh. The atmosphere was on par with the franchise.
Merits a Second Opinion. My lovely girlfriend and I recently decided to grab some sushi for lunch at the Kona Grill. We’ve become quite adept at choosing sushi and, admittedly, have a pretty high expectation for those delectable, fishy morsels. The interior was nice and comfortable, as much so as any respectable eatery in the area. However, one doesn’t go to a restaurant simply for atmosphere. You expect a good meal out of it, too.I had the agano shrimp tempura roll, your standard shrimp tempura roll with a bit of kick from sriracha. The description caught my eye and my taste buds and I was ready to enjoy some good sushi. When the food arrived, however, I was treated to something that more closely resembled a pile of mushy rice. The taste was fine, don’t get me wrong, but the texture was all off and ended up being rather unappetizing. I expected a much more varied set of textural experiences: the crunch of cucumber and fried shrimp, a nice, firm layer of rice, and a little bit of creamy avocado. It all ran together a little too much.The saving grace was the appetizer. I’m a big fan of Chicken Satay with peanut sauce and they certainly delivered on that front. The chicken was moist and tender. The sauce was rich with a little hint of salt. It was delightful. This leads me to believe that the kitchen isn’t incompetent as my earlier words might imply, but rather that its strength lies in grilled items rather than with the sushi bar. As such, I think I would need to visit again to try their Kona Club which caught my eye. I would hate for an unfortunate coin flip to be what stands between myself and a delightful dinner.We spent $50 at the Kona Grill and I simply didn’t get that kind of value from the food. I just expected better. This will not stop me from coming back, however, as I firmly believe that Kona Grill’s potential is much higher than my unfortunate sushi meal would suggest.

Two Thumbs Up !. We stopped at the Kona Grill tonight for Happy Hour prices. We had the Wave Roll (just average, too big to eat in one bite), the Voodoo Roll (really good with just the right heat), the fried calamari (including the really tender baby ones, in a light breading with dip), and key lime pie (HUGE and yummy, it’s for at least 2 people). Our Happy Hour experience was very good–we sat at the sushi bar and the chefs were quite humorous. All around a good time.
