Excellent. This place would make it in socal!! All good!23 Jul, 2013Great Food. I live in San Diego and have had many fine Mexican meals, DJ’s would stand up to any of them! The ranchero sauce and the green sauces are fantastic, fajita’s all fresh and tasty ingredients, chili’s perfect and tamales wonderful. Who cares about the dcor, enjoy the food and great service.
Wife and I went here today for the first time and both thought that the decor is lacking and outdated but the service was fast and friendly. The waiter suggested the t bone steak which you can cut and eat as fajitas and my wife had good chimi’s but the best part of the meal was the appetizer. We got the bacon cheese fries and they were awesome. I will go back just for those!
DELICIOSO / DELICIOUS. This is by FAR the best Mexican food around! It is always a great treat! Great food, great cheese sauce, great margaritas!!! I love everytime I come here.
More pork please!. My husband and I have been here dozens of time and are always satisfied. Our favorite is the Parillada for two (fajitas). The is the first fajita combo I’ve seen that has chicken, shrimp, steak, AND slow cooked pork. The pork is the my favorite. I wish they would offer it on more things on the menu. Of course they start out with tortilla chips and homemade salsa (excellent). We also order a side of white queso. The chimichangas are good as well. My only gripe is that they have the same flavorless spanish rice and refried beans (watery) as every other Mexican restaurant. How about a choice of southwestern pinto beans or black beans for something different? But besides that we always love what we order, and the service has been prompt and friendly.
Yes good Mexican food it been Americanized some for the locals but it’s good quality and friendly
Our family loves Don Julios, including my 4 and 6 year old. We have been going at least twice a month for the past 6 years. The waiters are all very prompt and friendly, except the old guy(he is slower and doesnt say much). I would recommend the Quesadilla ranchera and also the queso dip.mmmmm
Disappointed. Sorry to do this review. We have been there two times and not pleasd with the food. First time had enchiladas and they were bland and not much in the tortilla. The other day, I had the taco salad and my husband the fajitas; even the salsa they bring for the chips need some spice. The tortilla shell for the taco salad tasted like they used old oil. I took the leftover fajitas home and today made lunch for us; I added some adobo spice and they were good. I also wish when I asked for Diet Coke they would have told me they had Pepsi products.; Pepsi is OK but I prefer Coke.
