Decent place, great sandwiches with a fun newspaper theme. Best part is the see thru mirrors where you can see the opposite sex washing their hands in the bathroom – that was a little freaky at first but glad it makes everyone wash their hands!
This place is so charming! I had a fresh squeezed grapefruit mimosa and juevos rancheros with fresh avocado. It was fantastic and I can’t wait to go back!
Long wait. The news room has a great atmosphere and menu. Our food was more than one hour to our table after the order was placed. The host warned us that the kitchen was taking 30-40 mins on orders, but though the food was good it was not worth that long of a wait. We had to ask the waitress after 45 mins without appetizer coming out and then 20-25 mins more for entrees. I’m not going to hurry back. If you have a lot of time to waste check it out.
Great service in march 2015. Seems like a lot of old reviews harping on bad service. We had a great experience. Pleasant, attentive waitress, even brought my leftovers out to me when I forgot them at the table. I will definitely consider The News Room again next time I’m down there. The Cordon Bleu was amazing! A pretty unique menu (serves f l a v o r s ) that is cleverly put together, not a chain restaurant thats for sure! Drink menu has a LOT of options for each bottled beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits. Of course they’ve also got the standard minneapolis drafts too. I reccommend keeping a menu on the table 🙂
Majorly dissapointing service. Since food arrived, bartender checked on me once and I asked to see the drink menu again. Didn’t come back, had to ask for check and a box because I was tired of waiting. Until way past food arrived, there were 2 of us at the bar- Then a group of regulars came in, and he has been on top of serving them. Would not recommend.
In town on business staying near this place. Everything was great, food and drinks. Highly recommended.
