The ambiance and service is on par. The food, the core of a restaurant’s integrity, was not. I found things to be bland where they should be spiced, super-saturated where they should be mild, and half-assed textural content. I have had Greek coffee and Greek gyros dishes that were much better for less money.Try it if you want a toughie to critique. You’ll definitely find some elements great while others come up short of the value.
Cozy Patio. We sat at the Patio. The atmosphere does transport you to the Mediterranean world. The service was good. Any thing that has lamb in it is awesome.Good portions and not very pricy.I wish they had a greater beer selection, but of course, why would you have beer with Greek food. Will give it a 8/10.Certainly would go back
Not worth the price!. My fiance and I were very excited to experience a highly rated Greek restaurant and the ambiance that it boasted. The evening we dined here, the host seemed entirely overwhelmed by the number of people waiting for tables and was not very professional at all. Having made a reservation to be seated in the outdoor patio area, we were seated relatively quickly. After that, we observed servers and kitchen staff that were overwhelmed the entire night, creating a chaotic flow of traffic throughout the restaurant. After ordering the Combination Plate (~16.00) and the Athenian Special of the night (~17.00), we proceeded to wait for 30 + minutes without complimentary bread or anything, despite the menu saying that every entree comes with bread. The server never recommended any appetizers, or informed us that pita bread would be .75 cents if we wanted an order. After getting our food (which arrived at our table mildly warm), I was unable to even eat the lamb that came with my meal. It was the absolute worst meat I have ever ordered at any restaurant in my life! It was tough to the point where I was unable to cut it with my knife, dry, and very fatty! I would have sent it back, but our waitress didn’t come back to check on us for another 15 minutes, during which time I was too hungry to wait for another meal. The Spanikopita was below average (I’ve gotten better at Coney Island!), and the stuffed grape leaves were just okay. The best dish was the Greek Lasagna dish that came with my fiance Combination plate. Overall, the portion sizes were way too small for the price we paid. We both left the restaurant hungry and vowing to never go back there again. It’s Greek To Me needs help. They are responsible for the worst dining experience of my life.
Good for saturday/sunday afternoons. I tend to end up here after being a bad person and waking up somewhere I do not recognize on weekends. I like to sit and get a proper three-course meal to reinvigorate my system. Love the soups and the lamb. Wine is very tasty also, though I’ve never been a fan of lowball wine glasses, especially when I’m paying $8 for what’s inside it. Pour is generous though, and the patio area is just lovely in the summer.
Love this place. I have been coming to this place since about 1987 when i was a little kid. They have the best Gryo in town!
LOVE of my LIFE. I dine here often with a client of mine. The two of us order: Spanikopita, Saganaki(happy tears) and Htipiti. Then we split a greek salad, but in the summer we get the beet salad. Then I get whatever veggie friendly entree appeals to me that day (usually veg moussaka) and she gets the Gyro plate. Then we sit there and eat and dont talk for about an hour because we are too focused on the flavors. And I love it.
