Great selection of beers. Food was pretty good, nothing super great though. Great outdoor patio but a little too cozy. Was very disappointed that the skee ball machines didn’t work. They are vintage but too hard to actually play on because they kept breaking. I love a good skee ball playoff and was prepared with my stack of quarters but when they kept breaking down, it was very frustrating!
Cool place. Service was good. We both had ramen, it was awesome. Huge beer selection. Skee ball was fun, the machines had some quirks with scoring, but it was free and made it an fun experience. I was somehow expecting a sports bar and this is a small restaurant that happens to have skee ball.
The food and ambience was great. The service made me sad… Come to my table once in awhile? Don’t make me feel like I am in a culinary Siberia. O
Let me clear this up. I see negative reviews here and I think that is a matter of expectations. If you are expecting to come and sit down and have a nice meal, you will have to get lucky. This place is very popular and therefore always busy. That all being said, they have an outstanding beer selection which usually includes a monthly special (craft beer of some sort for 3-4 bucks). They also offer a number of delectable food items and a slice of carrot cake the size of your head. Enough said. Cheers!
Service nightmare. Having been there multiple times, sit at the bar if you want to receive drinks more often than once an hour. Servers disappear for 30 minutes at a time and after you order take another 10 to get your drinks, if the restaurant is busy or not. Great service at the rail however.
Come for beer, eat somewhere else. We tried Pat’s Tap this past Friday evening. As we expected, parking was non-existent and the place was packed. Most people seated in the dining area were drinking, very few were having food–this should have been our first indication. While waiting the 15 minutes for our table, I sampled 2-3 beers and finally decided on one–they have interesting beer selections, but not much for someone who likes a sweeter beer. Being able to taste a few made my beer experience very pleasant. Once seated, our waitress did a great job–very friendly and informative. We ordered the goat cheese fritters, which we all agreed were quite good. Our entrees came out promptly, cooked perfectly (I guess) but unfortunately left alot to be desired. I ordered the bangers and mash–they had sliced the flavorless bangers in half and tried to fry them (I think) and layered them on a HUGE pile of flavorless, texture-free mashed potatoes. Very disappointing. My fellow diners both had the bacon burgers, which they said were not particularly tasty. They were both disappointed in the french fries. All told, a below-average food experience. We will not be eating there again.
Will Return. Drove 45 mins to get here, did not regret it. Food is not overpriced. Espresso Porter changed my life forever. The Shakshuka was delicious. Poached eggs on a bed of couscous covered in roasted red pepper marinara, feta and cilantro. Could have used more cilantro, and have it chopped maybe. Otherwise it was amazing! Husband can’t stop talking about the warm spinach salad with mustard vineagarette (sp) with egg and feta.
