Schwarma Yes, Fries No. The Chicken Schwarma at Massad’s is unique among mediterranean fare– the pickles are a nice touch, and the house sauce is right between tzatziki and a standard ranch. The Chicken Schwarma is fairly tasty though, more of a rotisserie chicken taste than something flavored with za’tar or other regional spices. It’s tasty, but unique. Their french fries are straight out of a frozen bag that you can find at any grocery store– not worth it when you’ve got a sandwich that’s already good.
Why So Stingy?. I’ve been a loyal customer of Massad’s in River Hill’s Mall since its inception, however lately I’ve found myself increasingly unsatisfied with my service. I understand that with the decline in the economy and increasing cost of materials that it might sometimes be necessary to reduce portion sizes or increase selling prices. But please do so within reason. Your schawarmas used to be filled to the brim with chicken, veggies, etc, but in every single one of my recent visits within the past year, there has hardly been anything inside at all, and it has gotten to the point where multiple bites are of the pita shell only. Certain employees are especially stingy with their serving portions. While the quality of your food is impeccable, as always, I refuse to pay $6+ for a meal that wouldn’t even satisfy a 5 year old. I hope to see this issue resolved in the near future.

I LOVE SCHWARMA’S!!. I don’t think it is a secret in Mankato that this place has great food! I just wish they bottled that sauce they put in the schwarmas…
There can be only one!!!!. There is one thing to get at Massad’s.SCHWARMA! AMAZING, so good I have never had anthing else there. Do not pass up the schwarma…very, very good!
