Friendly place. More than just another college-town bar. The owners and staff make an obvious effort to make everyone feel welcome; on the weekends, Royal makes a point to stop at every table; John has a description for whatever is new, on tap, and Ms. Mallorie and Ms. Jade always show up quickly with warm smiles. The food is very good, as well, but the best part is the staff.
Good Service, average food. The fries were good, the burger was kind of blah
Wisconsin vs Minnesota St. We were in Mankato for a hockey series between Minnesota State and Wisconsin. We stopped in for a beer on Saturday afternoon and were treated as if we were we were regular customers even though we were from Wisconsin. The bartender suggested we try Schells so each of tried a different beer. He did not steer us wrong. Jay stopped by and visited with us and he proved to be a very good host. I strongly recommend stopping in for a beer if you’re in Mankato.
Had a good Reuben and signature chips. I would go back.
Stopped for happy hour on sat. the bartender made great suggestions (beer) and pointed us to a great Schell’s beer that is only at Pub 500. After a few beers we had some chips (second to none!!) the manager/owner stopped and said hi and gave us a map of downtown and was very helpful, letting us know what was going on in town.Great place and great service (we WILL be back)
Fun trying new things. At Pub500, we keep getting introduced to great new things we love. Edamame (young soybeans with salt) and new beers we hadn’t had before (they have a great selection from all around the word) and most recently pub pickles. Delicious and fun! Tom and his staff are super and we love hanging out there.
Something for everyone. Pub 500 has mastered the art of upscale ambiance and casual dining. Warm wood tones and soft lighting create the atmosphere for a perfect dining experience. Highly professional service. Lots of seating, including a lovely flagstone patio with a fire pit for outdoor dining. In cooler weather,stay indoors and relax on comfortable leather couches and chairs in front of the fireplace. An extensive list of libations is featured, and the menu variety is sure to please any palate. A great place for a date or to gather with friends. Plenty of room for the whole family to enjoy breakfast/brunch on the weekend. Perfect for Father’s Day! Children’s menu available.
