I visit Tandem every so often because I love their bagels. They have plenty of different items on the menu for varying palettes. Service has improved since they opened and the organization of the place doesn’t bother me. On cold days one can sit by the fireplace and read a book or just sit back and people watch. Overall a great place for a good bagel sandwich. I’d take this place over Panera.
Better side of mediocre. They need to proof the bagels longer- they are a little on the dense side. However, compared to the other bagels available in town, this isn’t too bad. The sun dried tomato cream cheese is really good.
In-house Roast Beef Roasted Like No Other. After promoting their in-house roast beef so thoroughly, I figured it would be the best item on the menu. Clearly the owners take no pride in their reputation if they serve such flavorless tripe as a house specialty. For a more palatable lunch, try the post office down the street, where you can lick a book of stamps for less than a sandwich here. Tandem Bagels is a wonderful option for dieters and people with food allergies, who can enjoy the casual ambience without actually eating anything. The clientele seems to be mostly people with personality disorders, so there’s always something entertaining going on at Tandem.
