Utter embarressment.. Having never been to ikes me and two friends decided to try it for dinner tonight. Right away we noticed how friendly and prompted our server was, we put in a drink and appetizer order right away. Being that I look young our server carded me as I gave her my order. About 5 minutes later she came back to my table and politely asked if her manager could take a look at my ID. This being the second time I’ve had to show it I started to get annoyed. The manager ended up coming back with my ID a few minutes later and even though she could see the picture was clearly me she asked me for a second form of ID in a rude tone of voice that everyone in the restaurant could hear. I was so embarrassed me and my friends left after finishing our app. We probably won’t be back in the near future.
New menu and daily specials are great. Enjoy the friendly and caring service.
Excellent service, but not-so-great and overpriced food. The service was fantastic, the hostess, our waiter, the people clearing our plates, all were just great. Very attentive without being overbearing. The food though, left something to be desired. Fattiest pork I can remember having at restaurant in a long time and certainly not expected from one of this caliber. Other food was OK, but highly priced vs comparable level restaurants. Will not be going back, can do better for the money at restaurants of same level. Have been to the airport and downtown locations, this location is not up to par.
Waiter has issues-. My husband and I went out for a serendipitous dinner as we found ourselves with out the teenagers rare for a Saturday night. When we got there it was packed as expected. But because we were only a table of two we only waited 20 minutes. So far, so good. When we sat down we were greeted with menues then pressed for our drink order… I declined as I had not had time to look at the wine menue yet and ususally like to pair my beverage with what I am about to eat which I was equally ill informed- mind you we just sat down. The waiter turns toward my husband and proceeds to walk away, but my husband was ready to order a beer. The waiter ignored him, so my husband had to call him back to the table to place his order. He ordered his beer and was promptly carded! Yes, my 49 year old husband was first ignored then carded! We are both the same age and while my husband is lucky to have no grey on the roof yet, he doesn’t look younger than 21. So I watched our waiter the remainder of the evening when new tables arrived around us and NEVER saw him card anyone else. Now the only other difference I could determine is my husband is African American and the only one in the restaurant that I saw. We both grew up in this community and while we infrequently run into this kind of behavior on occasion, certainly not in a restaurant where the average burger is $15-20. I was appalled- It wasn’t a rural bar, in the southern United States, this is Minnetonka for heavensake! Needless to say, we won’t return!
