The ONLY reason for the rating is because of our waitress, the decor, and the kids plate. The waitress was so on point she made a 30% tip from us. The food was great, although I cldnt tell bc it so overly spicy. My husbands steak was re-order-ed bc it was over-cooked. Then to top it off, paying an arm and a leg that wasn’t worth the food.
Sure it’s in Ridgedale Mall so I expected to pay too much for the food, but it was one of the few places without a wait on a Saturday night. My wife and I split some appetizers which were OK at best. The restaurant recently opened so I thought they would be putting their best foot forward. We had some guacamole egg rolls which were pretty bland but had some decent dipping sauce. The real disappointment was the pan fried pot stickers, they were cool when they came to the table and pretty difficult to cut through with a knife. It was almost like they made them 30 minutes ahead of time and just tried to warm them up, not good. There are many better options than Kona Grill if in the Ridgedale mall or a few minutes driving distance.
