Continued High Standards. Ventured away from the go-to choice of pastrami to try the roast beef, which was also quite good. How can all that red meat feel so healthy? Only criticism would be that the sandwich was a little light on the horseradish.29 Sep, 2011A Better Sandwich. The pastrami itself isn’t all that great – too lean, not juicy enough, and not much spice. That said, the way it was prepared almost compensates. Served on a nicely seeded crusty rye, with good slaw and stone ground mustard with a powerful horseradish kick. Tiny sides of wonderful potato salad and thinly sliced pickles. Also tried for brunch, poached eggs, sausage, and heirloom tomatoes, with a carrot-top pesto. Everything was fresh and tasty. The room itself is predominantly the kitchen with a few booths and high–tops. Feels like a train station. Maybe better for food to-go.
