Hit the spot! Having arrived late & hungry we were lucky to stumble upon the Monte Carlo! Waitress quite helpful with menu suggestions. The Ruben and Steak sandwiches were superb!
Not the same… This restaurant has seriously declined…whether it was a family function or date night, Monte Carlo was our spot. Unfortunately, our last few experiences have been very bad. The bartenders lack serious attention to detail and personality. Our food was not even close to the quality we used to know. 2 out of 3 entrees cold and soggy. One was sent back and when it was returned to us it was very obvious that it has been microwaved…So disappointing as this is a beautiful, classic Minneapolis restuarant. I really want this restaurant to succeed but I do not want people to waste money or a special ocassion on this restaurant.
THE BEST!. I have been going to The Monte for 35 years and have NEVER had a bad meal!NOBODY stays in the restaurant business as long as John Rimarcik has without knowing what they’re doing, and TRUST me, he knows what he’s doing!! My Faves; the cheeseburger (rare), meatloaf sandwich, fish and chips, fried chicken, the steak, the crab meat sandwich, and the WINGS! You have NEVER tasted wings like these! Amazing!!
I LOVE Monte Carlo!!! You MUST get the wings. They will change your life. The bar is really cool too.
Nice setting for a drink at the bar for a dinner date. Service is good. The bar is modern and the dinning area has an older darker look which is classy. Unfortunately the food was not worth the price and just not good. Only good thing about the food was the bread and that’s because it was warm. Salad was nothing but lettuce. The dish special (pan fried canadian walleye) did not have any flavor and my companion could not eat even half of it. The baked potatoe only comes with sour cream and butter – would like to see other things when they say loaded. My filet was nothing spectacular. The fries were good. I would not eat here again unless something drastically changes again about the food. I would grab a drink here.
