I don’t get why this place has so many rave reviews. I just had 3 of the worst tacos of my life from this place. The Asada taco was extremely dry and flavorless, the chicken tinga was scorching hot, and the pork in red sauce was a weird slimy mess. I don’t even know if what I got was pork. It was downright scary. The tortillas were flimsy and almost cold. The guacamole was too salty. I did have this as takeout, but that is no excuse for this mess. Too bad, as I was eager to experience the greatness everyone talks about.
Totally Amazing Tortas!. Tortas are huge and delicious with fresh queso blanco tons of meat and fresh toppings! Beef tongue taco was also very good. You can pick your own toppings and sauces for your tacos.
I find it hard to describe just how awesome the food is here. It is absolutely amazing. I love the enchiladas de mole and their pastor. I have only had their barbacoa once, which is a shame because it is the best I have had *anywhere*
Must try it!. If we weren’t intentiionally looking for this place, we would have completely passed it by. Very unassuming little hole in the wall just off Central Ave in Nordeast. Order at the counter, watch your food being prepared, take your tray, pay cashier, and go sit at a table. Earth lovers beware. Between the two of us our meals were served on five styrofoam plates. I would recommend looking at a menu online before going in. Menu is extensive and a little complicated. Just looking at it hand-written on a board posted 8 feet high above the order counter could give you a crick in your neck trying to figure out what to order. Once you have ordered you will be happy! Carnitas and Tinga de Pollo tacos were wonderful. Steak fajitas were flavorful, but the steak was tough. We were a little surprised by this since we were excited the meat was cooked fresh right when we ordered. Must try the corn on the cob!!! I may make another trip back just for a meal of corn. This is no ordinary corn. You will also not see this anywhere near a weight watchers menu. Slathered in butter, grated cheese, and sprinkled with spices. Oh, yyyuuuummmm!!Update: Second trip friend and I shared a pork burrito and a spicy chicken chimichanga. Both were absolutely amazing and HUGE. Had to do the corn again. Cook didn’t want to give us the last two ears he had because they were not up to par. We took them anyway and they were still amazing!!!
Best and I mean best tacos that I have found so far in the cities. Open and very clean kitchen. Staff are wonferful and helpful.
This place is delicious! Looks pretty sketchy from the outside, but the food is great! Try the corn, its worth the trip all on its own!
Gotta Try It!. Ate here for the first time after reading other reviews. It was everything promised and more. Good food, friendly service and HUGE portions. Go hungry and bring friends so you can try a little bit of everything. Will be going back for sure.
