The food is ok but pales in comparison to other nearby Indian restaurants. The service is dreadful and that alone will keep me from ever going back. I went with two friends and it was very apparent the staff was interested in rushing us along despite the fact we weren’t there for more than an hour and not past closing time. Chairs were being put up next to us and we had to get up and track down a server to pay the bill which was so quickly handed over.

Gorkha Palace Rocks!. We came across this fine restaurant through a recommendation. We’ve been there about 8-10 times and will go back! It is a unique experience to eat food from this region (Nepal, Himalayas). The white table cloth atmosphere is nice enough to please everyone, but the prices are reasonable. A good wine list, happy hour specials from 5-6:00, and the yummy momos please all the friends we’ve taken there.

Mediocre. Better choices nearby. Many previous reviews have touted the mo-mo’s. They were soggy little dumplings with little flavor. The rice was dry. The garlic naan is delicious, though: not oily, nice and chewy with a faint sweetness; really good. The kitchen was on the slow side.

Favorite Restaurant in Minneapolis!. This restaurant is absolutely amazing! My fiance and I discovered this place a few months after it opened and have been loyal patrons ever since. The momos are unique and the tomato chutney is unbeatable. I have my favorites (coconut curry chicken, anything with lamb, garlic naan), but every once in a while I will try a new dish and I have never been disappointed. As someone with an allergy to MSG, I know that anything that I order at Gorkha Palace will be safe – which I cannot say about most restaurants! I also appreciate that they take special care to source natural/local foods and reduce waste wherever possible. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fresh, delicious food in a peaceful environment!

Just tasteless… I was so excited to see there was a Tibetan/ Himalayan place in my neighborhood. Usually when I want good Nepalese cuisine I have to make a trek to Everest on Grand. My first attempt to eat at Gorkha’s was with a friend, we walked in around 8pm on a Thursday night for dinner and apparently there was an emergency and the cook had left for the evening? We thought it was pretty strange that they had such a small kitchen staff that if one person had an emergency it would take the whole place out for the night, but who knows. My second and finally successful attempt, at trying Gorkha Palace was with a take-out order. Alas the food I brought home was entirely disappointing. I got the Aaloo Katahar (jackfruit), the chicken Tikka Masala, An order of Yak Mo-Mo, and garlic Naan. The Mo-Mo were eatable, though far from the best of ever had, but the rest of the meal was downright gross. The Naan was half raw, and the rice was dried and cakey like it had been left out over night and had gotten dehydrated. The jackfruit dish, which I was so looking forward to, was under seasoned. The jackfruit itself was obviously canned (understandable, I guess since we do live in MN), but the potatoes tasted like they were canned as well (you know that nasty metallic tasteshutter). Seriously, no excuse for using canned potatoes when you live in the Midwest. The Tikka Masala was completely salt less, and very oily for some reason. The chicken in the dish was alright, not tough at least, but it certainly did not make up for the complete lack of flavor in the dish. This was such a disappointment for me. I may try this place once more as dine-in, since it has so many positive reviews for other diners, but I was strongly advise against their take out.

We found a hidden treasure in NE. My partner and best friends were walking towards The Bulldog in NE- a place we really like, when we saw a semi-hidden place none of us had heard about. We decided to check it out and we are so glad we did. This is the best Nepali, Indian and Tibetan cuisine in the twin cities! The aromas were just so inviting and since we were greeted so openly without a reservation, well we decided to stay. The vegan section of the menu is one of the best ones! The dumplings were to die for and the naan is also perhaps the best. We all shared all of our dishes, we love them all but the Mitho Kurilo got a standing ovation from all of us. When you find a restaurant where the owner is also a server, you know that there is careful attention to what is happening. We are definitely going to come back, over and over! YUMOLA!!!
