Not a restaurant. I am not sure if JL Beers claims to be a restaurant or not, but having a bazillion beers and a list of burgers does not make it a restaurant. Also, not at all group or family friendly. Again, not sure if they claim to be, but only offering high tables for four sent a clear GROUPS AND KIDS STAY AWAY signal. Not every establishment needs to welcome children, I totally get it. What I liked: server was accommodating and kind. There were at least three servers and two bartenders on duty in spite of the fact that other than two young men at the bar, we were the only customers. What I didn’t like: The space is very small and the bar takes up most of it. This is clearly all about the beer and not about food. The only food is burgers and fries (or chips). Not a salad or appetizer to be found. Burgers were cheap but barely above fast food quality. Fries were ok, a bit mushy, but chips ($2.99 for a not so big portion) were good.Not sure who their target audience is, but I doubt this place will be here in six months, so if you are curious about the beer list, go now.

I tried to order a water here and the waitress told us that they don’t have tap water but that we could pay for bottled water. The burgers, fries and beers were good but after finding out they make you pay for water, I doubt I’ll be back.
