I’m a regular at Starbucks because I love their cafe mocha latte with soymilk, and it’s hard for my to drink the Folgers coffee that small locally operated coffee shops serve,…I went to Matchbox and couldn’t believe how terrible my experience was. There was a lady with a tattoo on her face, and OMG, she wasn’t wearing a bra! This is public people! Wake Up! They claim their coffee was Fair Trade, but how fair is it that I can’t use my Walmart Visa Rewards card…what about my points?! I’m never going back, these people even have a Unisex rest room, whatever that means.
This place rules!!!!. A little gem in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis, the Matchbox has been my favorite coffee shop since I moved here 5 years ago. It’s a friendly environment where people actually talk to each other…connections are made, discussions are had, laughing is heard. The coffee is kick-ass, and it’s only $1 for a house cup! Now that’s a deal like you can’t find anywhere else. They use all organic and fair trade ingredients and always have a nice snack option.Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

The matchbox is my favorite little coffee shop in northeast, so I thought it deserved more than the one bad review it has here. Fantastic coffee, fast service, and biodegradable to go cups ( which is a huge plus in my book). I don’t know what that other guy did to make them grumpy at him, but I feel like he probably deserves it.
Rude. Ive tried to give this place several chances but they are consistently rude, they even post a sign which i guess entitles them to this lack of pleasant service. no credit card machine so bring cash.
