Comfort food with flair AND flavor. I went to the restaurant for the first time today. The owner has a real passion for his food and it shows. It’s not like a stuffed pastry is anything fancy, but the execution is what makes it memorable. I went with the traditional, this being my first time, but I intend to try the other options. The pastry was hot and flaky and the filling was wonderfully flavorful. I especially liked the chunks of potato and carrot that had just the right amount of bite. What amazed me the most was that I was able to eat a full pound of pasty and enjoyed every bite.

Fantastic fresh food with a smile. This new food truck is the baby of Minneapolis chef Alec Duncan and his new English wife Fiona Carter. The couple came up with the idea of bringing Cornish pasties (with a slight twist) to Minnesota while hiking in Scotland. The truck which has been out on the streets for under a month is going down a storm with local professionals and has received some great write ups and reviews in the local press. When you taste the food it’s obvious why! The delicious pasties are all made by hand using fresh produce. The Traditional is the filling most people would recognise, ground beef, potatoes, carrots and a rosemary gravy, The Pig is stuffed to bursting with pulled pork that has been roasted in apple cider for eight hours and is flavoured with granny smith apples and a touch of cinnamon, The Chicken Pot Pie is a wonderful pot pie filling but in a pastie case and the Thai Vegetable, the most original, is potato, spinach and other vegetables in a Thai red curry paste. The truck also offers homemade ginger mint limeade – made with all fresh produce and a banoffee pie with the addition of Peruvian dark chocolate. Combine the wonderful food with the friendly and fun owners and its a recipe for success!

Awesome New Food Cart!. There are food carts and then there are food carts. This is an awesome new food cart started by experienced Minnesota Chef (formerly of Barbette, 128 Cafe, I Nonni, and more) Alec W. Duncan. After traveling the world through Vietnam, Argentina, Chile, Nepal, India, England and so many more countries (just chat with him, him and his co-owner fiance Fiona have a great gift of gab) opened up their own food cart the collects their travel experiences and shares them with the public in the form of delicious world cuisine. Prices are very reasonable, flavors are unique and exciting, I was just thrilled to find something so different and fun on the streets of Saint Paul. According to the chef, they will be expanding to MPLS as soon as possible. What a fun way to eat while biking through the city this summer!
