Consistently Good Sushi. My family visits Kobe at least once a month when we have a sushi craving – it’s consistently good, the atmosphere is cozy and calming.
Usually great except during week. This restaurant has always been my family’s favorite place to eat. My kids want to use their allowance to eat at this restaurant and always choose Kobe for their birthday’s. My only complaint is that the food doesn’t seem as good during the week. We went on a Wednesday night for my son’s birthday. We always get the Hibachi Dinner. The chicken was tough and the rice and vege’s were practically flavorless. My husband and I sat on opposite ends to help with the kids’. After comparing notes, he said the exact same thing. We were very disappointed! I would have given them three stars if I knew this was the norm. We haven’t been to this restaurant in over 6 months, so hopefully, our experience was sub-par because it was a newer chef. Usually their chicken and steak Hibachi meals are wonderful! Look for coupons online before you go. You can save a lot of money! Make sure to bring a birth certificate or id for birthday coupon’s.
Kobe blows!. I went to Kobe in Plymouth for a birthday. The waitress badgered one of my party for additional tip, then waited while he refilled out the credit slip, also she didn’t return my change. I will not return to this location EVER!!!!!
Great place to eat. If you have never had Kobe beef this is a must try. The hot rock beef is to die for and its fun to cook! The prices are really reasonable too.
Killer happy hour. We decided to try Kobe for their happy hour sushi specials, and frankly we weren’t expecting a great experience. We stuck to the basics- sake, ebi and hamachi nigiri plus a couple of rolls, yakitori, and tempura veggies. Everything was pretty good, better than average for what I expect for Japanese in the twin cities. The service was good and very friendly, and the prices at happy hour can’t be beat.
Very poor fake Japanese. I been to Japan twice for biz- My impresion of Japan is the excellent quality, excellent service & attention to the smallest details. BUT NOT AT KOBE!Very poor imitation of Japanese food. Over soy-saused steak, dried out rice, skimpy fish on the sushi. And even worse service. Rude-inattentive All they care about is pushing their over-priced drinks.
