On a Wednesday, brought a crowd of about twenty in for happy hour after telling the owner there might be a dozen. As the place started to fill, he reprimanded me, telling me we had too many people and there were no tables for his regulars. Just the same, we were spending good money, but he ruined the fun atmosphere. He lost a bunch of customers because of his scolding us. We are spreading the word.
YaYa. We are visitors in Rochester and this was a good experience. Service only a tiny bit slow, but staff very friendly. Food was actually better than expected! Typical options of a sports bar!! Nothing fancy. Overall, liked it.
Good bartender. Drink prices reasonable. Food was good and also priced reasonable. Free popcorn is some of the best. Seating is very open, no private booths. Good service. Just a fun place overall.
Beetles rocks. Never had a bad experience at Rochester’s best restaurant and lounge! Good food and good service!
Decent Comfort Food. The barbecue chicken wrap was good–ingredients all tasted fresh and the chicken had a nice tangy flavor. I made the mistake of ordering that with seasonal vegetables, which almost certainly came straight out of a frozen pouch. I’m not exactly sure what was seasonal about them, but they were terrible. Everyone else at the table got a burger or sandwich, all of which good pretty good reviews. Beetles has a somewhat strange vibe. It’s sort of a sports bar, but not enough of a bar environment. The clientele was also entirely 50+ on this visit, if that matters to you. Prices are very fair, though service was weak (not too helpful or friendly). Overall, Beetles seems like a decent place for pub food, though the menu is pretty boring.Grade: C+
One of my fav’s. I probably wouldn’t like Beetle’s very much if it wasn’t for one menu item… The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, and the fries. Those two things are the best menu items of any bar & grill in Rochester. Actually it’s the best buffalo chicken sandwich I’ve ever had anywhere.
Beetles. Very clean place, very nice employees. Food has always been great, and nicely priced.
