The positive online reviews are very misleading. If this is the best BBQ some people have eaten, they need to try somewhere/anywhere else. Ordered the Combo Dinner and got a plate full of soggy potato chips, covered with a side of warmed up beef and ham that was the quality of $0.99/lb deli meat. The chips were apparently Jojos, which is what we got instead of the fries we had ordered. We also got a side of baked beans instead of our ordered green beans. The side of garlic bread was soggy and dripping with butter. BBQ sauces were thin in consistency and their taste was easily overshadowed by mere ketchup. If you are looking for a way to spend $50 on a dinner out, and walk away dissatisfied, this is it.
Always great food!!! Pork and ham are great!!
A Rochester Classic. This place is legendary. I always take relatives who are visiting here.
Great food for a good price. Sure the place is none too fancy, but the food is always good. Great place to take a family.Best BBQ I have had in Minnesota. And we get around.
Yummy BBQ. We’ve been going to John Hardys BBQ for years. Now we live in Florida and can only get there when we go back to MN. We love their sauce so much, we buy a case of it to bring back. They don’t sell it online. My favorite is the pulled pork. It’s tender, smokey and full of flavor. Jo Jo potatoes are a must but you also get two sides and garlic bread. It is a feast! For those who liked a thicker sweeter sauce, we prefer the tang and heat of this one.
Not great BBQ. I wasn’t impressed. The bbq sauce was really odd – different flavor. The pork was chopped really finely and seemed dry where there was no sauce. Jojo potatoes were limp and pretty greasy, not crisp like I expected. They were mostly covered with the sauce. My husband did like the beef and we both agreed that the coleslaw was excellent!
Real BBQ. John Hardy’s is everything you ever wanted in a BBQ restaurant. Great food, cold lemonade and down home atmosphere.
