  My order is been screwed up twice now accuracy and what you order should be extremely important just as important as the quality of your food highly disappointing I got a certificate for two free meals because when I went there for my husband’s birthday we ordered two dinner plates and our food was missing sides there was no BBQ sauce so we go a second time use certificates order food to go get home and we get the wrong kind of meat we didn’t order sliced beef I wanted fries not JoJo’s honestly don’t think I’m going to eat there again anytime soon I’m tired of giving them chance after chance and having my food messed up

  This is the place that started it all for me with barbeque in the early ’90s!It was recommended to me from a co-worker that grew up in Rochester and was a regular (Thanks Lon!!)This is a hole-in-the wall location next to oil(?) tanks and freeway over-passes. Odds are you will miss it from the main road if not observant, and that would be a shame! John Hardy’s has the best ‘que in Minnesota! I say that because all of the meats they smoke are excellent–not just one or two. That means delicious ribs, pulled pork, sliced beef, turkey and ham. All done with the added flavor of mesquite for a substantial smoke flavor!Meats are always tender and consistant. They have a myriad of deliciously zingy vinegar-based sauces ranging from mild all the way up the ladder to that lip-burning Bad Boy Hot that just may have tour stomach in knots the next day!!Sides are simple but good (pass on the corn for better choices though). My choice is the baked beans. The garlic toast you get with every meal is perfect for sopping up extra sauce when you have already gorged yourself on as many greasy-good jojo potatoes as you can hold.Service runs the gamut depending on who you get and what time you dine. Many of the staff have been there longer than I’ve been a regular, and I’ve had my share of birthday dinner road trips down from The Cities since my college years!The only thing that could make this place bettfer is if they served Coke instead of that Pepsi stuff–or at least add Dr. Pepper to the selection list:-)

  One of my family’s all-time favorite restaurants. A trip through MN is never complete without a stop at Hardee’s, and we’ve been known to drive to Rochester just for the BBQ. Rib portions are generous, there are tons of different BBQ sauces, and the potato fries are the BEST. It really doesn’t get better then Hardee’s BBQ. krismlars.com
