The Lord Essex, has a long and storied history, it was opened 94 years ago by the Kahler family when they built the hotel. It was in the early days the bar for the Elizabethan Room, the hotel's Grand Ballroom. Through the years it has become the premier dining facility, and serves as the flagship restaurant for the Kahler Group of Hotels. The Culinary team is currently lead by Executive Chef Tommie Tranh. In 2018, Lord Essex The Steakhouse was named one of the Top 5 Steakhouses in Minnesota.
