We are from out of town and were looking for a casual dinner, we came in with 8 and had a great time- very good food (prime rib special, walleye Reuben, buffalo chic wrap, burgers, walleye fingers) and good service. Pleasantly surprised to find this place. Good tap beer selection too!
Great Food, Friendly Service A+. I have been going to Pappy’s since the day they opened and the food is consistently good, the service is wonderful, and I will continue to go there (at least 4 times a month). Not sure why the voting numbers are so low, but I’m guessing that the competition may be sending out trolls to make the place look bad. Look, the decor is not fancy, but the food is damn good and it’s a nice place to hang out with friends and family and get a decent meal at a decent price.
Friendly service and tasty food at a good price ! The Friday fish special was delicious. We will come again!
I agree- the food is above average bar food. However, they need to slow down and pay attention to details. I ordered a salad that came with pear slices…..they left the sticker on the pear ..it looked like they washed it but didn’t remove the sticker….There was one waitress for the entire restaurant. They need to have good service….great food just isn’t enough.
Awesome!!!. Just ate there for the first time last week after hearing about it from some friends…so glad we did!!!! The wait staff was very friendly. We brought our 1 year old son and felt very comfortable having him there. We started with the onion rings….they were great, not mushy or overly greasy, and came with a great dipping sauce. I ordered the Napa burger with tator tots. It was full of flavor and came straight off the grill; bun was great too. My husband ordered the PB burger and said it was awesome. We left stuffed. We will definately be adding this place to our list! It could use some more lighting though; it was pretty dark in there. Also, there was a strong odor when we walked in; not sure if they are trying to cover up the smell of smoke from the last place; but it was strong.
After several visits to Pappys, here are some observations- Food is above average bar food. Service is getting better, but on each visit it seemed as if the wait staff needed more help. The guy bartender was pouring short beers (not topping them off) and seemed disinterested in his job., while the lady bartender (owner?) seemed much more engaged and on top of things. Waitstaff has one POS machine, so long waits to get orders in and checks out. Clientele is mostly older folks out for dinner. Suggestions- more tap beer options, no craft beers available. Tap beer needs to be colder. Add another POS station to speed things up. Add staff as needed. The tomato aioli served on burgers is not appealing to everyone,-offer it on the side.Overall, Pappys is a nice addition to the Rochester dining scene.
Fair at best. Seriously questionable on service…clientele ummm skip it. At least spend more than $2.99 on bloody Mary mix for an $8 BM. Wow…. hey get your carpets professionally cleaned
