Disappointed. I was very excited to try Pi as I adore wood-fire pizzas (Punch in the cities is where it’s at!!), but I left feeling totally underwhelmed by the pizza and dirty from sitting at their unkept restaurant. The sauce was bland–almost tasted as though a can of plain tomato sauce was dumped on the crust. On a positive note, The cook who made the pizza was great at interacting with our kids which made for a great experience for them. The dining area was dirty. Just plain gross–sticky tables and chairs and food remnants all over the floor. It was not busy when we were there so I do not understand why it was in such an upheaval. For amazing wood-fire pizza, make the drive up to one if their twin cities locations. You will LOVE it.
Tasty! …but a little light on the meat.
Genius local pizzeria. All individual-sized pizzas at very reasonable prices so the whole fam can get exactly what they each want! Friendly, fast, amazing wood-fired grill viewable from the whole restaurant. Very good stuff goin’ on here.
Tasty !. Went to PI this past weekend with family. We each ordered a different pizza, so I was able to taste quite a few. All of them tasty, thin crispy crust with just a hint of sogginess in the middle from the veggies (I LOVE this, very authentic). Wait staff was very friendly and efficient, our 6 pizzas come out promptly. Only complaint is I wished the tables had been scrubbed a little better–they felt sticky, but it could have been the humidity. All told, we had a very good meal at a very low price.
Best Rochester Pizza. This is the closest thing to an authentic italian pie – thin, crisp crust, simple tomato sauce, fresh real mozarella and basil, cooked in a woodfire oven. Its all a matter of personal taste, I suppose, so if you like oily cheeze covered thick crust pizza like bilotti’s, you’ll probably not like Pi. But, if you want to have pizza as it was meant to be, you’ll love it. Service is fast, their salads are good, the employees are nice, the store is clean. They are great to our children, letting them learn to toss pizza (not in the food area, of course), giving them the occasional treat.
Pleasantly Surprised. I didn’t quite know what to expect from this fast-casual, order at the counter restaurant tucked into a strip by Target, but was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Diners can watch as workers toss the dough, place the toppings, and slide the pies into a flaming oven for a quick bake. The crust was thin, but still soft; sauce was light, but flavorful; and the ingredients all tasted fresh (including the mozzarella). Overall, it was a delicious pizza and certainly much better than I expected. The menu offered a lot of options and my group enjoyed three different pizzas (the Greek, Applewood, and Create-Your-Own). The only disappointment was that one of the pizzas came out 5-10 minutes after the other two, leaving that person to wait and watch as we dug in. Prices are fair and portions are just big enough to satisfy. The staff was warm and friendly. The interior is clean and open.
Worst Pizza and Atmosphere ever. The music is incredibly loud, when I ordered our pizzas the order was wrongly taken because the counter person could not hear what I was saying. The counter person told the cashier what to ring up, however the cashier could not hear what the counter person told her. Thus she had to run 2 credit card transactions. The pizza did come in a timely manner, however the crust was not really cut so we had to use one of their dull knives to try to cut the crusts. The center of the pizzas were SOGGY. The outer 2 1/2 to 3 inches of the pizzas had no topping on it. AND to add insult to injury, they serve wine in a type of juice glass, that is a mortal sin. My eight year old grandson who is the pizza expert in the family said, this is the worst pizza he has ever eaten in his life (i do agree on his hatred of chunky tomatoe sauce). Will we go back? Not a chance. If you want a great pizza in Rochester I would recommend Z Pizza at U of M Square in Downtown Rochester.
