Awesome atmosphere, fun all around place. Maybe they have changed management but we did not share the opinion of negative reviews posted. My husband and I pulled in because of the great quirky atmosphere and cool old cars. It get better when you get close with classic metal kids pedal cars hanging all over the place and fire pots for s’mores. The minute we parked the was someone greeting us at our window and letting us know our server will be right with us. Just a minute or two later, our server was taking our order. She was friendly and attentive checking on us multiple times despite a down pour outside. The food was good. It was not gourmet but it was simple, tasty American drive-in fare. Exactly what I expected and we did not have any of the issues that other people have described. I felt like I needed speak out and give this place credit for the great experience we just had compared to the other reviews (which are old anyway and possibly no longer applicable).
I used to go to Wagner’s and the Galaxy (last years Galaxy) but I think The Galaxy Drive In of this year is the best of the three. Under the new management the menu is more streamlined and the prices have been lowered, the food quality and service has also gotten changes for the better. Your still going to wait a little longer for the food because they make it when you order, but hey, its not fast food. Still a great place for the family and pets, very pet friendly. My over all experience at the Galaxy Drive In would definitely land them 5 Stars.

Seriously…overpriced food.. We went with our extended family to Galaxy.Boy were we disappointed about the prices.Seriously overpriced!!!!!!.I don’t thing I could eat another Chicago hotdog again. It was smothered with Ketchup and Mustard. the bun was broken and soggy. OOHHHH gives me the jitters thinking about it. I do agree they have done a good job to spruce up the place….but seriously you need to serve food to match.I DON’T THINK i am going there again.
Won’t do that again. Ordered an Italian sausage They brought out what looked like a hot dog. Waitress agreed, took it back to the kitchen, then brought it back to us and said the kitchen was using a new sausage that looked like a hot dog. Guess what, it was a hot dog. Considering the process (even an ordinary hot dog with fries is more than seven bucks) pretty outrageous to compound it by lying to the customers.
This is NOT closed – I just ate there. July 2011 – it’s open for business and cooking.They did the Chgo dog just right. The root beer float, not so much. I wonder if it had made by mistake 1/2 hour before I ordered it. It was warm, and the ice cream was totally melted.The worst part is getting there. You have to find out how to get off of 7, then you have to find street parking if you don’t want to do the car hop. But, not bad. 🙂 And NOT closed.
