This place was pretty good. The menu is small, when I heard I was going to a Louisiana influenced restaurant I thought jambalaya, gumbo, creole, spices….. Well they had the gumbo and it was good. Lacking a little in flavor I thought. I believe it could have used more spices and a small kick. The corn bread was good, you can definitely share an order with a couple friends. I was told the menu is still under development and growing so I am hoping to see this place succeed.
I am pleased to see crowds at the Pavilion at Como, it’s a beautiful area/park and it is meant to be visited and enjoyed. I am happy to have live music on the lake and to see people of all ages come to dine and dance. It seems they are still working out some of the bugs as food can take a while but the dishes look nice and you can easily get a cocktail, beer or wine at the bar. It’s definitely a little on the spendy side, $9 cocktails, $7 beers and $12 entrees but worth a visit. I recommend the bean salad and the chocolate cake, I would also consider trying the boil.

Off to a good start…. We went on a Friday night so it was, of course, packed. We did have to wait a while for our food but they warned us beforehand so that was not a big deal. And the food was well worth the wait! It’s real actual southern food, something I’ve had a very hard time finding in this area, and they do it very well. I will be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know. Also, if you eat outside the view is just fantastic. Oh and kudos to the staff for being so friendly under so much pressure! Everyone was whizzing about but they never showed the stress.
Staff is working out tweets. If you know southern food give it a shot. I liked the dark roux base of the gumbo. And was a fan of the red beans and rice and the white cheddar grits.
