Rice and Beans. I often find the rice and beans the best indicator of Mexican fare. I had an impromptu lunch today, the #19, steak strips with vegetables. The portion was huge, delicious, and piping hot. But the Spanish rice stole the show, so always disappointing elsewhere – mushy and way underseasoned. Not here. The refried beans also were a cut above, light and fluffy, not dry, caked, or lumpy. Only problem was that huge portion, plenty for two for lunch.
