Great service. My husband is an omnivore who usually gets two kinds of meat on his dish. I am a pescatarian with vegetarian tendencies. He dislikes beans and guacamole. I love these foods. He ordered his meal which came with beans and guac. Our waitress was very helpful. She understood when he said he he wanted those things on the side and when she set it down without prompting she realized they had put the guacamole on the shells and sent it back to the kitchen for us without any guilt trip or any trying to get us to go with the mistake. The food was good. The dairy sauce is tangy and if going back I would get a beverage less acidic than pop because it doesn’t stack well. I also recommend the a la carte menu for light eaters, read: people who don’t plan to take home a box or are on a budget. The a la carte menu had veggie options including a mushroom quesadilla — I got a bean burrito which held me. We would go back if we lived anywhere near here or passed through again… Another reviewer mentioned remodeling. El Toro is apparently done with that. Looks nice. Funky red sidewalks. Love the infinite mirror setup in the restroom. There’s even a Spanish language magazine which looked like a possible events calendar. Suggestion from a tourist: Get an English current events magazine as well. Maybe the Star puts one out.
Loved It. My parents were in town and we wanted to take them out to a local place. We had never been to El Toro but we saw that it had great reviews so we decided to give it a try and we were glad we did. My dad is very picky when it comes to restaurants and it got his approval. I loved that they brough ranch dip along with the chips and salsa. I ordered a margartia and the tacos and they were both delicious!
This has quickly become our family’s favorite Mexican restaurant in the southwest Minneapolis area. Excellent traditional Mexican food and good service. Our little girl loves the Mariachi band on Friday nights as well!
Fast friendly service. Great food with the nice decor. Everyone had a smile and where quick to help.
Excellent!. Very friendly service – all employees always have a smile on their face. Everything I’ve tried has been great. Good prices for the portions, especially during lunch! Can’t beat a chimichanga entree for $5.75. Chips and salsa are always excellent – fresh chips and homemade salsa with just the right amount of heat. Currently remodeling, but still open for business – looks like it will turn out great!
The food was excellent.I had the carne asada and it was delicious.everyone loved what they got. It was some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The service was very friendly. Definitely go.
Worth the stop. So far, El Toro has been the best place I have found for Mexican food. I am not wild about their salsa, but their burritos are very good and the price is right. This is a better alternative then some of the other restaurants in town.
