Excellent food and service. Pulled pork was extremely tender. Generous portions. Drinks were very different and tasty with smoked ice. Had the Hazy Sunset.
Excellent place, was just me eating and took a bit of time but it was worth it. Sat next to a fireplace so stayed nice and toasty whole waiting, very good BBQ, still not the same as eating Caroulna BBQ but very close. Very fresh, spicy, and tasty, I would highly recommend this place. Very friendly people and comfortable atmosphere.
Awesome Caterer. We had these guys cater our 4th of July wedding and we couldn’t have been happier! They did an awesome job and the food was fantastic! We had a 200 person hog and chicken and 4 sides and the food was hot and delicious! We will definitely be using these guys again in the future!! Couldn’t have been happier with our choice!
Awesome!. Just had lunch at Mr Pig Stuff, and as always, it was awesome! My wife had a pulled pork sandwich that appeared to weigh about a pound! I had a one meat basket with brisket (wonderfully tender and juicy), Mac & Cheese (to DIE for!), and baked beans (BEST in town). Suffice to say we were VERY impressed! A great family-owned place with a cozy atmosphere and truly wonderful food… What more do you need?!
It will do for Minnesota. Heavy on the vinegar Carolina style BBQ.
I was excited to try Mr Pig Stuff given the resoundingly positive feedback on here and other sites. I went in for lunch today and had the meat platter to get a bit of a sampling of everything. I travel a lot for work and a lot in the South so this is probably about the 50th or so cue joint I have been to including everything in the Twin Cities. So in general in MN I have pretty managed expectations and have found few places that really get it right. Unfortunately this is not one of them. The good sign of BBQ is being able to taste the accents of smoke in the meat that enhance the flavor. BBQ sauce should really be an afterthought and the meat should not have to be drowned in it to enjoy it (otherwise why not just save your money and go to Applebees?) This absence of this was so profound that I asked if they used a smoker or baked them. To my surprise they said they smoke the meat. After a little more conversation the very nice guy that worked there said that they use apple wood. Apple wood is a good thing to mix in but should never be the base as it is a very light flavor. It is primarily for poultry and if you are using it for pork it’s best to mix in some hickory or something that will give it a lasting flavor. At the end of the day this place is what it is, a MN BBQ joint for MN tastes. It is somewhere between Applebees and Famous Daves. I have read that some Texans on here like the place which makes sense because TX doesn’t cook the right animal even and in hardcore BBQ circles is lowly regarded. Anyway they are super nice people and the sides were fine so I wish them luck.
