I get the impression that Brine’s is trying to include dinner when it’s really a lunch deli place. Plates for sandwiches were barely big enough to hold the sandwich, the portion of coleslaw was positively tiny. This is a historical tradition but I may never go there again.
Pretty Good Bar Fare Food.. The beer cheese soup is good, and so is the dollar burger day if that is still around.The best Brine’s to go to for a great deli sandwich though is the meat market behind the dome in Stillwater, nearby Cub Foods. For $3.50, if you can get past the sneering prunes, who will make your sandwich reluctantly, you will get the best deli sandwich around. Besides the meat being fresh and good, they have a larger assortment of condiments to work with-about twice as much as Hagberg’s, and though the sandwiches aren’t as big as Hagberg’s, they are much tastier, and now that Hagberg’s continues to raise their sandwich prices, a dollar cheaper as well.
