Hideous Service, Mediocre Food. This small, riverside pub in Stillwater features a hand-painted ceiling with vintage-look dancing girls. That’s where the charm ends. A small bar, and a claustrophobic dining area with inattentive server (the bartender both times we were there) and very average food. The singers, if they have them, are usually drunk. We’ve given this place three tries. We will not be back, nor will we recommend it to anyone.
Awfully slow service.
I think we hit them on a bad day, but it wasn’t the best experience. They were down by two servers who chose not to show up and the service we did get was rushed. To their credit they were clearly trying to do their best under the circumstances, but it took us more than an hour to get our food and the visits from our server were few and far between. When she did appear she was so hurried that she was gone before we could ask for what we wanted, e.g. another round of drinks. My steak was also overcooked, but they comped it. So I appreciate the effort they made to please us, but it is hard to imagine coming back.
Lunch by the river. Had a nice chicken salad on fruit and mixed greens. Half size very sufficient. Good service. Fine place to enjoy a sunny day on the deck.
Horrible Easter Buffet. Went to the Easter buffet today and experienced some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. We were a party of ten. When I made the reservations, the only time available was 2:45pm. When we arrived, the place was nearly empty and instead of being seated in a pretty (and empty) dining room we were seated in a freezing cold large, ugly, empty banquet room with florescent lights. The food was cold. The prime rib was raw, tough, and practically inedible and the dessert table was nearly empty and what was left was dried out and awful. I cannot believe someone would even serve this level of food, let alone charge $23. WHAT A RIP-OFF.
Mediocrity at it’s best. Not too impressed. Food for the price was about the quality of a chain restaurant. They only have 1/2 pint glasses for beer yet charge a full pint price (kind of a nasty trick that most people probably don’t notice).
