Completely Ignored With a Reservation. Had a reservation to accommodate a large party (15 people); ended up waiting for 20 minutes while simultaneously being ignored completely while they figured out where to put is in a largely empty (I could see a set of tables put together that would fit us all – albeit possibly reserved for another party).I get that large parties are difficult, but it’s not like they weren’t expecting us to arrive. I understand the need to find a place to put everyone, but at least letting us know you’re working some logistics out goes a long way to make the wait more tolerable. The Hostess was literally avoiding the front desk pretending to be busy elsewhere the majority of our wait.Having recommended this place to my friends for our event was an unfortunate embarrassment. The food was good when we finally got it; the waitress was courteous and the long wait for food and drink isn’t necessarily her fault.Had it been a busy night I’d be more understanding, but this place was far from slammed; possibly understaffed for a weekend? I just get the impression this place doesn’t care whether I like my service or not because they’re an institution of Stillwater – and people will continue to show up (at least once). I will not again.
Not given enough credit here. The food was fastastic. It was the only restaurant downtown that has a free parking lot. The old building was amazing, and our server was as sweet and friendly as they get. I’d go back. Yum; sconnie cheesecurds.

New Menu!. My husband and I took a trip to Stillwater this morning, excited to enjoy the beautiful weather. Ceviche, Lobster Pot Pie, craft wine…it’s an all new Freight House. I suggest you revisit this Stillwater gem.
I love the Freight House. The food is delicious. The staff and restaurant are perfect.
Used to be good, now not worth it. I used to go here with my folks years ago and it was always good. The food was good, the prices were descent and the staff was spot on.Ive been there a few times in the last year or so and each time I’ve had the same opinion after eating: Blah food, expensive price and mediocre staff at best. If you order a sandwich, they charge you extra for any side, including fries. The waitresses are young and seem for more interested in talking to the bartenders or each other than checking on their patrons.There are far better places in Stillwater to eat than this place. The only thing they have left going for them is the big deck with a great view of the river.
Lots of potential. Wait staff are largely inexperienced making for an underwhelming time.
