Nicely done concept – interesting menu – a vivid conquering. From internationally-inspired small plates to salads and pastas to my perfectly done tenderloin smothered with just the right amount of perfectly crafted barnaise… all well prepared – not a single complaint (oddly enough). We were happily surprised with our second visit in two years to the Green Room in Stillwater. A friendly staff who are genuinely happy that you are their (as opposed to the new and yet-to-learn LOLO a few doors down). Three levels of seating including a roof-top deck with a commanding view of the St. Croix River and the lift bridge crossing to Wisconsin. Reservations should be encourage. Full bar, great wine list, craft beer selection (bottles only). Highly recommendable. Constructive criticism: Noise-level could be a bit irritating (due mostly to the hard surfaces of the vintage brick walls) and might be remedied with the addition of strategically-placed decorative fabric wall hangings.
Poor Execution. We have been to the Green Room three times, each time hoping it will deliver. Simply having a good location in Stillwater does not make a good restaurant. Food is over thought and poorly executed. Staff is amateurish- when the customer tells you something is not good you should improve the situation, not put on your passive hat and do nothing to improve the situation. Wine list is weak and reds are served too warm. Hopefully someone will step up in Stillwater and compete with Domacin and Phil’s
WORST MEAL AND EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD…. In 48 years of life I have NEVER had such HORRIBLE service! Sat forever before server ever came, ordered our drinks from the busboy, only way dishes were removed from our table was to set them on another table, steak over done, Hair in mashed potatoes, no apologizes just excuses and VERY RUDE, server was short and talked to us with quite an attitude.Had to go ask for our tab, bring the tab back to them and then find them to get the tab signed and credit card back! NOT ENOUGH HELP to deal with the summer season. I have never been through any experience like that. Usually one person is not doing their job and at fault but at the Green Room obviously no one is doing their job, as we had HORRIBLE service from EVERYONE we came in contact with. This was Saturday and today is Monday and I still can’t believe how AWFUL the whole experience was….DON’T go to The Green Room…EVER!!!
