Poor excuse for BBQ, grossly overpriced.. Had the open faced brisket plate, $15, less than 4 oz of brisket on a piece of wheat toast, side of cole slaw, smidgen of fries. 30% of the meat was inedible, slices of fat, not meat. Obviously they haven’t learned what trimming does for the brisket. Flavor of meat was non-existent, soggy cardboard best describes it, sauces were the worst ever. Living in Kansas City for 8 years, I may be slightly biased when it comes to BBQ, but this is truly the worst I have ever experienced.
Not worth the price. Ordered the full rack to go. Ribs were OK, sides were ridiculously small, fries were cold , no corn bread. Not sure I would go back. Lot better places for ribs.
I really liked this place! After driving by it on a daily basis, we finally went in for dinner tonight and were pleasantly surprised. Mine and my husbands sandwiches had great flavor and great prices. We also loved the ice cream and the unique flavors. We will definitely be coming back.
Awful. I’ve been here twice. The food is dry and tasteless. The fries actually came out raw during one of my visits, after we waited, and waited, and waited for them to even show up at all. The ribs are bland, overly salty, and DRY. I’ve eaten ribs in Memphis, I’ve eated Ted Cooks, I’ve had them everywhere. These don’t make any of my lists. During my second visit, I paid $19 for a beer, burned and dry cornbread, and a seriously dry pulled pork sandwich that had zero flavor, bun hard as a rock; it tasted like it came directly out of a microwave. $19??? really??? Never again.Service? Worse than the food. There are a bunch of teenagers working in this tiny little place and they honestly have no idea what they’re doing. When you walk in, you have no idea where you are supposed to order and no one bothers to tell you (see: teenagers). Where are the menus? No idea. Most disappointing? The owner was around when we were there last, and didn’t seem to care that customers were complaining left and right. I don’t get it.
The Personal Touch. I’ve eaten ribs all over the USA, and there are a lot more bad than good. Have eaten here twice. I can plainly say that these are the best restaurant pork ribs I’ve ever eaten- and I’m quite familiar with all the local favorites- Famous Daves, Market BBQ, Rudolph’s, Ted Cooks, etc. The owner is a BBQ fanatic and we talked BBQ for about 15 minutes. The only complaint I had was regarding the table service. The servers seemed overwhelmed in handling the 3-4 tables of diners present in the tiny restaurant. Having to do double duty with an ice cream counter didn’t help, but really?
Threw It Out. The first sound of the microwave I should have been out the door. Nuked, hard, tasteless and dry. Brisket sandwich bun was as hard as a board. Meat was dry and tasteless. 2 BBQ sanwich buns were shriveled from nuking. Dry meat, no sauce. Third visit only because I had 2 gift certificates. 2 out of three times the food was very bad.
Poor quality. Food was okay at best, although we went there in the winter. Only 1 person is working so it’s hit or miss how the service is depending on how many people are eating. The food is all pre-made (who knows when) so when you order, all they do is walk in back and scoop everything out of pots. The ribs we ordered were just kept in a warmer and obviously tasted like they had been sitting too long (very dry and chewy). Pretty expensive for the poor quality.
