Great service!! Starting from walking in the door, the hostesses always great you with a smile on their face. After being seated, (even if it’s an hour it’s worth the wait) you will be placed at a booth or table where the servers are all outstanding and on top of everything. Bartenders are very fun and outgoing, and kitchen is even friendly – always answering questions about how they make their food! I would recommend this amazing place to anyone driving by the beautiful city of White Bear Lake.
A very good representation of classic Chicago Deep-dish pizza here in MN. The crust is a perfect crunchiness, even under the lake of thick red sauce and blanket if gooey mozzarella. They make their own Italian sausage which is really very good, and I get that its Fennel sausage, but for my taste when its on the pizza mixed with the rest of sauce etc it became a bit too much fennel. Make sure you start out with the Family table Salad–big enough for 6 people to warm up their appetites, and if possible try the Coal Fired Goats Cheese–another favorite of ours (good enough for 4-6 to sample). Pass on the Stuffed Mushrooms–as a group none of us thought the filling sung with the mushroom caps even though nicely cooked. Nice casual atmosphere and friendly service every time round out an easy recommendation to anyone.Iced tea rating 3/5
The pizza is just not good.. I love pizza. I make my own pizza that’s simple and tasty. It’s not hard. I’ve had amazing pizza but Pezzo tries too hard and they fail. I had their balsamic pizza (I don’t remember the name) and it was tasteless. There was nothing complex or mind blowing about it. My kids had the pepperoni and that was also pretty simple.At Olives, another new, nearby pizza place, I had the most amazing pizza I’ve ever had. The Fresno. Maybe after that experience I was comparing Pezzo to Olives but I eat many different kinds of pizza and Pezzo is just unimpressive to me. Their service is very good. The dough for the kids is fun and also a pain, but it’s a good distraction. But it’s about the pizza. Is the pizza good? No. Will I go back? No. Olives does take out, Pezzo does not.
Fantastic pizza place. Love the Carmelites onion and chz dip with bread. It is fantastic.
The restaurant is beautiful but they have major inconsistencies with the food. Had deep dish my first time there and it was over sauced but the person I was with had the pasta dish which was pretty good when I tried it. When I went back a second time I ordered the pasta dish and the sauces was unappetizingly sweet this time. My friend had the deep dish and the first time she went she loved it but her pizza was over sauced and the crust was burned. I hope they get their consistency figured out quickly!
Highly recommend! Ceasar salad was super fresh. Chilled plates and salad forks – Nice touch! great beer selection and detailed beer menu! DeepDish was excellent, worth the extra cooking time. (45mins) – Great Service, even the bus-boy was friendly! A+
