Worst ExperienceFrequent customers over the years with reservations at 6:30 on Saturday night. First they were out of crab cakes, 10 min later we were informed that they were also out of mussels. After ordering our entrees over an hour later informed that they were out of the risotto too. It was time to leave and find some dinner.A $50 dollar bill for three mis-cooked seared scallops, a basket of bread, two glasses of lemonade and one of wine with cork floating in it…after two and half hours and no food we decided to leaveThe manager didn’t even have the grace or professionalism to speak to us or apologize forcing the flustered waitress to check us out. We will not be returning any time soon. Unfortunate for what had been a hidden gem in Woodbury.
The food was delicious, the wait staff friendly and helpful. We were seated quickly and not rushed when we wanted to stay to talk. Portions are very small for the price. I ordered a pasta and thought it very strange that it came with such a puny piece of bread and didn’t come with a salad. The dessert was very good but very small. I don’t mind small portions, but the price should also be smaller. I had to go home and eat another dinner.
My wife, two kids, and I arrived to an empty Cravings on a Sunday around 4p. We were cheerfully greeted and sat anywhere we wanted. A comfy booth in the middle of the restaurant was a little chilly so we had to keep our winter coats on. Our very friendly waitress took our drink order. My wife and I chose a very overpriced bottle of cab since we knew we were going to try the Filet and the kids had a very sweet but tasty lemonade. The table service of the wine was perfect then we ordered our meals: a filet mignon, beef short ribs, and a white chicken lasagna. I guess we should have ordered an appetizer because they don’t even provide bread and butter while you wait. The meals came out in a timely fashion. First impressions: steak was cold and undercooked (ordered medium, was rare) with a huge cold ravioli on top of the tiny little filet, the lasagna was very small and mushy and didn’t seem like it was made within a couple days, but the beef short ribs were very flavorful and well portioned and even had a side of potatoes (the steak and lasagna did not have any sides). Overall, the filet mignon was poorly cooked, VERY small cold and lacked any flavor, the lasagna seemed like it came from a box, and the beef short ribs were good but would have been more impressive if they were still on the bone.I can NOT recommend this restaurant with a good conscience and am disappointed since I was really trying to impress my daughter. At least she was lucky and ordered the beef short ribs… 🙁
Another lovely dining experience at Cravings in Woodbury, complemented by a wine flight of featured Robert Hall selections (ros, cuve, cabernet); the cuve was particularly sublime and buttery. Spouse and I shared a generous Caesar salad (w anchovies on request). For entre, spouse enjoyed the delicious pappardelle w a garlic/wine/mozzarella topping. I ordered the seafood special–a scrumptiously prepared (pan charred) filet of corvina, served on a bed of white and yellow carrots, white beans, and braised kale. Very delicious. Our server, Alyssa was delightfully friendly, attentive, and accommodating, as was the gentleman tending to the bar.
It was okay – Prefer The Nova in Hudson, WI. First time there. My entree was lukewarm and the sauce tepid, but both were flavorful. Very nice server and patient with my endless questions. I was very hungry, so ate the entree; the waitress had offered to take it back to the kitchen to have it ‘warmed up’, but I did not want a $16.00 entree microwaved – heck, I don’t want any of my food microwaved. Nothing comped, not even partially. Think I will spend my money at The Nova in the future
Wonderful Experience. My wife and I visited Cravings in March for our anniversary. We were met with an awesome welcome from the hostess and our waitress. We were offered a wonderful experience with a welcome note placed on our table recognizing our event. We ate scallops, duck and oxtail ragout while enjoying a great bottle of Chianti. Our waitress, Nichole, was attentive and extremely helpful in our menu choices. I was amazed that a restaurant of this quality exists in a suburban environment. We will definitely be returning for another great experience!
Really?! Good way to lose customers…. When we started out we thought the food and the service were great, but then we came to dessert and it all went downhill… We ordered the cake with sea-salt buttercream icing, tried it, thought it tasted like play-doh and so asked to have it substituted with something else. The owner came over and proceeded to tell us it was their best-selling cake, that we were wrong and then charged us full price for a cake we didn’t even eat. Way to be customer-centric.
