Great Breakfast. I had the Southern Bell Omelet, and it was great. 3 eggs and it was overstuffed with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and ham. The accompanying hash browns were good – crisped on one side and still moist. Also he managed to the get the whole wheat toast – toasted crispy – an art many breakfast joints have not mastered. Unlimited coffee including one to go made this one of the better breakfasts on the Coast.01 Oct, 2013Good choice whether or not you are traveling. This is not haute cuisine – it is what it is – grillin’. Newly opened. The place is a bit run down, but I enjoyed the food. Ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with mushrooms, onions, and peppers with a side of onion rings. Now the onion rings were a bit overdone for most of you, but this is the way I like them – well-done, crunchy and enough firmness so that I can bite through the onion and not just pull it out of the crust. There was no burnt tasted despite their dark countenance. Now I don’t think he intended to do that, but it worked for me.The Philly is a Poboy – on a crusty French bread with the ends cut-off. It’s not overly stuffed and would have liked more onions, peppers and mushrooms. The cheese was like a white American and was very good. The steak was one of the better ones I’ve had in a Philly – no gristle or chewy pieces – beefy flavor and tender.Service was prompt and attentive. The Philly with side of onion rings (this was $1.49 extra as it usually comes with potato chips for $8.99) and a fountain drink came to $12.99 including tax.
