This bakery is an old fashioned no nonsense place that makes simple but delicious goods!11 May, 2011Old school bakery…. The breads, cakes and various delicious sweets are made in the traditional fashion and this bakery has been in Biloxi at least since the turn of the 20th century. My favorite cake is a toasted coconut cake with pineapple filling, it is moist and delicious. I take one to my father for every birthday he has and he is approaching his 82nd in a few days. He loves this cake and so do I!Tradition and baking ability/experience are important to me and Electrik Maid has it! They have my business for all my bakery needs!

Very disappointing birthday cake. I am so disappointed, I have bought many baked goods from this bakery over the last 35 years and was pleased, especially with the bread and rolls until recently. My son came into town for a visit and my birthday and surprised me with a cake he had bought at Electrik Maid, it was very pretty and we couldn’t wait to have some after dinner. We all cut a slice and it had to be the worst cake I’ve eaten in years. It was a simple white cake with what was supposed to be buttercream frosting but it was so dry that the ice cream couldn’t even moisten it enough to choke down and the frosting was so whipped with air and crisco that it was greasy and tastless. I tried another slice with milk poured over it and still it was terrible and had a stale flavor. It is such a shame that what was once a wonderful bakery would even sell something so inedible. I sure hope they can do something to check the quality of the goods they are selling before they lose all of their loyal customers.
I bought two dozen cupcakes this morning that I had ordered last night. I expected bakery sized cupcakes, not something in a muffin pan size I could’ve done at home. I am very disappointed. There is just a small frosting portion lying on top not even reaching the edge. I am presenting this today for a small gathering at work and am embarrassed. I will stick with Walmart or some such place for half the price. Never again! $32.10 for 24 mini cupcakes. You should be ashamed!
Gingerbread Man Lover. They are the only place on the coast that bakes Gingerbread Men year round.. Totally the best I’ve had!
The breads and rolls are fantastic. we always go for rolls to make the best sandwiches.
