Service very goodAmbience very niceWine greatGumbo decent Steak Oscar disappointing b/c meat was not apparently flavored. The chef seems to have assumed putting crabmeat on top was enough But it wasn’t. Steak had little if any flavor of spices or marinade. Very disappointing given this is a steak place!!!Won’t go back anytime soonToo many other nice places on coast
Recently the wife and I enjoyed a special occasion at Mignon’s. We have tried most of the steak houses on the Gulf Coast, but the no-smoking policy offered by The Palace and their dining options was a big draw. I opted for their Summer Prix Fixe which offered a three course menu of an soup/salad/app course. I selected the Seared Sesame Tuna which we shared. We both agreed the tuna was high quality and that it was prepared and complimented well with a soy reduction and wasabi cream. As part of the Prix Fixe, I selected the 20 oz Porterhouse (medium) for my entree, it was served with sauteed mushrooms. My wife ordered from the Chef’s Collection – The Filet Mignon, bacon wrapped sea scallops, and grilled shrimp. Both steaks were well prepared and seasoned. She offered me a sample of both the scallops and shrimp and they were both nice. Her entree came with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The sides were nice.We shared the desert that came with my Prix Fixe – A Strawberry Napoleon. It was good, not great it looked way better than it tasted. In all this was a very enjoyable dinner, the only complaint was that the service was not quite up to what I would expect from a restaurant at this price point. It wasn’t that the service was bad, just not quite up to par…Dinner for two with wine and tip was pushing $150 so I would have thought a little more attention to detail would have been in order.Up the service and this is a solid 4-star.

A Surprise Valentines’s Dinner…. We especially enjoyed the shrimp cocktail that were perfectly spiced. Next time we may need to get two orders of the cocktail as it was that good! If I remember correctly, the name of one of their signature dishes is the eggplant napoleon which is a tower of eggplant topped off with seafood. It was gigantic and is a must try!I ordered the Gulf snapper and it was delicious as well. The only thing that we didn’t care for was the bread. Even though it was served warm, it was bland.
Eggplant Napoleon, get it;-)
