It’s taken me years to finally decide to leave a review, mostly because I try to only leave reviews when I’m impressed with a place. I’ve stopped by The Grind here and there over the years and unfortunately, it just doesn’t measure up to other coffee shops on the coast.I decided to give it one more try last week and stopped by for a coffee. When I asked how they make their iced coffee, the girl at the window explained that whatever coffee is leftover at the end of the day get’s dumped out and refrigerated (strike one). So I ordered an iced latte. It was pretty awful. I don’t know what could go wrong to make their espresso taste like chemicals, but I couldn’t drink it.The customer service is the only thing that kept me from giving 1 star. The girl was nice enough. & I’m only speaking to my experience with their coffee– I’ve never eaten lunch here, but now that there are more places to grab a coffee (like Dunkin’ Donuts across the street), I feel like they’re going to have to learn how to do coffee right if they want coffee loving people to choose to shop with them over someone else.
The Grind is so good! Their paninis are always perfectly done, service is exceptional, the staff appear happy all the time and their salads are incredible. The bistro decor is adorable and the place is super cute and clean.
