The service has always disappointed. I like to have 5 o’clock cocktails, and they always seem shocked by my presence. Even annoyed. A manager even glared at me once. They are always out of something I want. Always apologizing for late attention or missing ingredients. The atmosphere is lovely. The cocktails, when you can get them, are mighty fine. It is just so amateurishly and clownishly disorganized.
Absolutely favorite place to go for a drink in Hattiesburg. They have a wonderful selection and great atmosphere. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Fantastic drinks, delicious finger food, intimate but engaging atmosphere, comfortable seating, and friendly staff. If this isn’t the best (arguably only) cocktail restaurant in Hattiesburg, I don’t know what is.
All right, here’s the thing: the fried chicken is delicious. So good in fact, I was already half-way through by the time I remembered I should include a photo. It wouldn’t do justice to show you the damage I had already done, so maybe next time folks. Edna’s fried chicken is a lunch special on Wednesdays. Typically, they run out of birds early, so make haste. It’s everything one could appreciate in a good, old fashioned Southern meal, with great time taken to make sure it’s delicious. On a different note, do yourself a favor and order the Branch Burger if you’re there for any other time. Truly is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It comes with two patties, but I usually ask for a single patty. I also add bacon and a fried egg. Very fresh burger and it doesn’t overly rely on the bun or condiments like many other places may be guilty of. I’ll pay for it if you don’t like it.
The food was very bland, bread pudding was cold, and service was mediocre. Purple parrot and crescent city have much better tasting food and service .I’m one whose easily pleased too . This restaurant was a let down.
Unique dining experience. Met a business associate at Branch this week for a light dinner. This was the first time either of us had taken in Branch and first off the venue is quite striking with its exposed Cypress beams on the exterior and muted earth tones. The interior is hip and trending without being overly pretentious. The wine cellar is impressive and the decor is modern without being stuffy. We began with an order of bacon roasted almonds and truffle fries. The bacon roasted almonds are simply addictive I could have eaten four orders myself. The truffle fries were outstanding, crispy fried and seasoned to perfection.I the ordered the Braised Pork Cheek and the Agnolotti Pasta, while my associate sampled the Lamb. The braised pork cheek was served over truffle mashed potatoes with an aiol it was topped by fresh greens. The pork cheek may have been the most tender morsel of pork I have ever eaten. Wonderfully prepared and the potatoes and aioli were the perfect compliment. The pasta dish was well executed with mushrooms and spring peas, the texture and flavor were very nice and made for a very nice pairing with the braised pork cheek.I did sample a bite of the lamb my associate ordered and the braised lamb was as good as any lamb dish I have ever experienced. The small plates make it somewhat affordable to try several different dishes. They range from $3 to $9 per dish.Diners at Branch can also order from the full Purple Parrot menu.Branch has been open little more than a month, and I can see this quickly becoming the place a place to be for young professionals in Hattiesburg.
