User reviews. The atmosphere and service were nice. The steaks were ok. In my experience, all the items were not cooked to order and were served warm. I was borderlined between sending my dish back, as was everyone else in my party. There wasn’t anything spectacular to mention, everything just seemed ok. The complete meal was complimentary which may have been a factor for it being ok. If I had my choice of restaurants, this one would not be the one.
GOOD SERVICE GOOD FOOD. Friends and I have been coming here for dinner for over a year now, although they had a rough patch at one point last year, this year they have gotten their act together. Good steaks with reasonable prices. As far as service, we always ask for Mike. You can tell he truly loves what he does and always go out of his way to make his dinners satisfied and have a good dining experience. He knows the dinner menu very well and very honest. So if you want to dine at Cater Green ask for Mike.
My husband and I visited carter green last Saturday night and were delighted by everything. We decided to let our wonderful server, Rick, order everything from my martini ( a wonderful strawberry/basil blend) all the way through dessert and he did a masterful job. My husband had the petite filet, perfectly cooked and I had a HUGE fresh lobster to just die for. Wonderful dinner, wonderful service, wonderful setting…we will go back!
Great meal. We were visiting our son at Keesler AFB and wanted a great steak before leaving town. Our last night we found Carter Green. Ordered escargot appetizer, not traditional presentation, instead served on bread. Different, but good. Bread basket included pretzel rolls, which was a huge hit. The other 2 guys ordered scallops for an app, seasoned just right with a nice sauce. 3 had french onion soup, not a huge bowl, just right, 1 salad. Dinner 1 had petite filet with crab & Bernaise (add chg), was cooked to perfection. Husband had lobster, was whole lobster, presented at table, opened and removed tableside. Everyone joined on few bites of that. 2 others ordered lobster pasta. The pasta noodles similar to angel hair.no one had room for dessert :)We highly recommend this restaurant, if ever back in town will for sure come back.
Our server Theresa was great and the Chef Billy Wright did a wonderful job on our lobster and steaks. The food and service is second to none.
Last review stated steaks were expensive, I disagree with that, you pay one price and you get a great quality steak that includes soup or salad , plus your choice of potato, and Veggie of the day. Service is impeccable, great team.
Best service. The best service on the coast. Each course comes out rather quickly,yet unobtrusively. The steaks are very good, but very expensive. You can get steaks of similar quality for much less, but none can compare with the service. Carter Green takes over for emeril lagasse’s fish house in the island view resort – the decor remains pretty much the same.
